Believe in Yourself
All living beings have Absolute Universal Knowledge. It is the light, the spirit, that piece of God or the Creator that lives in each and every one of us. This is the light that makes us all knowing, all one and connects us all to one and other and to our higher power. You access this inner light by doing what is you know or feel is best from the inside.
Dogs – Hot Spots
Although it might seem late in the season for hot spots September has had some warm and humid weather. Hot spots love humid hot and sticky weather.
First check - First and very important. Look back three to four weeks from when you first remember seeing the hot spots or beginning of them. Did you make any changes to your pets physical routine. Ie. Did you change their food, start using a new shampoo, a new detergent(affects their bedding), have you changed their doggy salon, perhaps the shampoo they use it’s not working for them.
- dry patches and irritated skin can be an allergic reaction or sensitivity to a new product. If that is the case first thing you need to do is get rid of the product and either go back to the one that worked or find one that does.
(The most important thing about a product that you use for your pet is that it works for them regardless of what everybody else has to say about it.)
I don’t know that anyone really knows the exact reason for Hot Spots. But we do know that they are itchy messy, very hard on our fury children and make our hearts ache.
Lavender Oil is great on hot spots. First thing in the morning and then again at night on the hot spots and don’t be shy. They may not like the smell so much but it really cleans out the area and helps the healing process.
First put a little on just to make sure that they are not sensitive to the lavender oil. Do not mix with anything or dilute. Right out of the bottle. You can purchase Lavender oil at your local pharmacy, just ask your pharmacist, usually they have it behind the counter. Or at your health food store. Do not buy a cream lotion or product that contains lavender oil. You want lavender oil and no mixing or diluting.
Lavender oil is a gentle natural antibiotic. I also use it for scrapes cuts and burns. One of the wonderful properties of Lavender oil is that it is soothing, it pulls the pain, itching or irritation out then goes to work taking out the infection or bacteria and the healing begins.

You should notice a difference in three days to a week. Just like anything we put on ourselves or our babies, if the condition is not improving or seems worst. Don’t use.

Cats
CATS PEEING AND POOING OUTSIDE OF THE LITTER BOX

Just in case the first thing I ask people before we start working with this problem is, how often do you change the litter box. Some of our new boxes and litters suggest that you never need to change the box. But the bits of remaining litter gets smellier and smellier and the inside of the box can get dirty. So be aware that a cats sense of smell is so much stronger than ours we cannot even comprehend it. So create a regular cleaning out and changing of the litter box routine.

That said:
When your cat is going to the bathroom outside of their litter box, there is something bothering them and they are trying to get your attention. This is a three part process. When working with clients I always divide this into three parts and it is important to focus on each part so here is the first part of the process:

There are three basic steps to solving a pet problem:

1. First we figure out what began the problem or bad behavior,

So let us begin:
First you need to figure out what is bothering them. Think back to when you first remember them going to the bathroom outside of the litter box. Now don’t think that you should come out with an answer right away. I want you to think about it and then I want you to put it into your brain and let the question sit for a bit. Let it sit for a week. You may have an answer immediately or you may think you do, but give it a week.

Our brains work very similarly to computers, you put the idea in and it goes through quite a bit of information before it gives us the right information or file. So don’t worry about it, your brain will eventually take you back to when it first began or when you first noticed it.

Now you have given it a week and you know or have an idea of when the behavior first began.

People

Fall is upon us and cold season is in full swing. The air becomes cold outside and our bodies have to acclimatize. Our doors and windows are closed and the air inside our house is getting warm and dry. If you are still keeping your window open at night and you have a cold then the outside night air is to cold for your system. Close your windows and doors at night and turn on or plug in your humidifier. If you do not have one you can purchase a small plug in humidifier at your local drug store or hardware store. Our systems function best at a certain temperature with a certain amount of moisture that we breathe in and then circulate through our body.
